30 Mitti Street was awarded the prestigious AIA New House of the year, National Award in November 2017. The jury citation read: "This holiday home in Noosa offers multi-family accommodation in a spirit reminiscent of camping, with an insect-freecentral campfire and a pool emulating a tropical forest swimming hole. Here indoor functions and gardens are spatially interspersed in such a way that the indoor/outdoor distinction is rendered meaningless. Blurring of the envelope starts with the shadecloth roof, which floats gossamer-like over pool and living spaces alike. Batten-softened transitions from fully open roof areas to darker cosseted interiors, which surround the main space like sleep-out bungalows, also enrich the ambiguity. Standard house conventions such as a defined entry, circulation and closurelines to the outdoors are all avoided in pursuit of a spirit of connected oneness within this benevolent climate. The only disappointment is having to leave at the end of a visit. This nature-embracing space makes you want to settle in, light the fire and wait for the music of a tropical downpour dripping from leaf to leaf."
This luxury 2-story 5-bedroom beach house is built to accommodate families that love all that Noosa has to offer from beach and surfing, tennis and bush-walking, through to the world-class restaurants and shops of Hasting Street. The property's position is superb.
Located in beautiful Little Cove you are 150m from the National Park gates - turn left and its a short stroll along the boardwalk to Noosa Main Beach, turn right and you are in world famous Noosa National Park with its amazing ocean walks and beaches.
The unique architecture has been designed for families with 5 large luxurious bedrooms sleeping 10 people in comfort. There are 2 large parent retreats at each end of the property, each with king size beds and private ensuite bathrooms. The central 3 double bedrooms each have 2 king-single beds. All bedrooms have reverse cycle air-conditioning and each opens to a mesh screened veranda that wraps the whole house.
The commercial strength 'hail proof' shade cloth creates a totally unique atmosphere allowing sea breezes in, while keeping mosquitoes and summer heat out. The shade cloth mesh screens the entire house thereby creating a high grade eco- building.
The main level of the house functions with 2 separate living zones - adults tend to utilise the more formal living, kitchen anddining area, whereas children congregate around the tennis court, pool and media room areas. While the kids are always in clearsight, this demarcation allows for a very relaxing environment for parents.
The airy light-filled open plan formal lounge space comfortably sits 6-8 adults. The central communal areas include an amazingindoor/outdoor dining area with BBQ, log fire chimney (great for marsh mellow toasting) and dining table. The kitchen/loungeand dining areas can be fully opened with the large floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors, which when fully-retracted allow the summer sea breezes to flow throughout the whole house.
The kitchen is fully equipped and the dining area centres around the beautiful custom made Spotted Gum timber dining table.The swimming pool is incorporated into the houses layout, with the media area and shared tennis court located at the rear of theproperty.
